APS-UNM DBT Skills Group Practicum
This practicum placement represents an Albuquerque Public Schools (APS)-UNM collaboration that supports a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills-based group therapy program (Wise Mind) for Title I (homeless) and other adolescents in a school-based setting. The APS-UNM DBT Skills Group Therapy Practicum is designed to provide a training experience for graduate students interested in learning the process of school-based and group-based DBT clinical intervention with high-risk adolescents. This practicum is strongly recommended as one of the first in a series of practicum placements, as it is focused on the basics of co-facilitation, DBT intervention, and adolescent intervention, helping students build a solid foundation for future clinical practice with adolescents. Graduate students interested in this practicum experience should contact Dr. Sarah Erickson.
