Undergraduate/Post-Baccalaureate Students
NOTE: APPLICATION FOR SPRING 2024 IS CLOSED. IF YOU SUBMIT AN APPLICATION YOU WILL BE CONTACTED FOR FALL 2024 IN THE LATE SPRING
Are you an undergraduate/post-bacc student who is motivated and committed to learning about hands on research experience? We are looking for volunteers! Preference will be given to those who can sign up for 499 credit.
What is required?
You will be learning about research by providing support to research related tasks to our ongoing studies. For example, the Mother-Daughter Body Image Study entails helping with zoom-based or in-person assessments of 4th and 5th-grade girls, as well as data entry. The Outcomes Related to the College Student Attachment Study involves helping to transcribe interviews with college students, coding, and data entry. Occasional literature reviews will be conducted as well.
How to get school credit?
Academic credit is available to students who participate in these research opportunities by enrolling in PSY 499. UNM students can enroll and earn up to 3 credits per semester for participating in research related activities. Each credit hour corresponds to approximately 3 hours of work in the lab. Students can learn about conducting psychology research by participating as a member of a research team. Arrangements are made between the student, faculty member, and/or the psychology graduate student who will supervise the student’s work.
How to get involved?
1) Fill out the Brief Form Below. You will be contacted after filling out the form.
2) Interview with the team.
3) If signing up for class credit, register for PSY 499 through UNM Registration. Must be completed by the UNM add/drop date to receive credit.
